This is the second video from my February workshop in the Lofoten Islands. Like my previous videos I go through the thought process behind some of the images and explain some of the locations while we're behind the scenes on the workshop.

WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS: PART 1

This is the first video from my recent Lofoten in Winter workshop. Like my previous videos from the Dolomites is used an iPhone and a DJI Osmo 3 gimbal to record behind the scenes of my recent workshop there, explaining some of the locations and outlining the thought process behind some of the images.

WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE DOLOMITES PART 1 - VIDEO

At this time of year I spend a lot of time travelling and leading workshops, and in the past I've not filmed videos during the workshops, but this year I thought it would be interesting to shoot some video during the workshops and then to analyse some of the images that I shot while in the field. I wanted to shoot as spontaneously and discretely as possible, so most of the footage was shot with an iPhone 11 and a DJI Osmo Mobile 3.

RETURN TO LOFOTEN

Less than two weeks after returning from Lofoten I was heading out there again for a second workshop. As soon as I landed at Oslo it was immediately apparent that a lot of the snow from earlier in the month had disappeared, and then when I arrived in Lofoten, after a pretty windy final stage of the flight, I was amazed at how different the landscape was

This winter I did two workshops in Lofoten, the first in February with Jonas from Vagabond Expeditions. I love Lofoten in Winter, it’s an amazing place and I was really excited this winter to be going there twice

A WEEK IN THE DOLOMITES IN WINTER

I love the Dolomites. The jagged spires and peaks are my favourite landscape to photograph and every time I’m back there I find new inspiration. Photographing these same mountains blanketed in winter snow was something I’d wanted to do for a long time

THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS: PART 2

Pretty soon into our trip to Lofoten we realized the sunrises were oftern something special there. The high latitude means that the sun rises quite slowly above the ocean casting it’s light almost horizontally onto the snowy peaks and bouncing off the bottom of any clouds. It really is wonderful.
