Earlier this year I spent a week on a sailing boat sailing around the remote fjords of Scoresby Sund in Eastern Greenland. Sometimes the experience completely overwhelmed the photography, but I really believe that all landscape images come out of our experience in nature and a desire to share that.
Read MoreI've wanted to visit Patagonia and photograph the mountains there for so long. Early this year I was there for the fall colour, and in this video I talk about capturing the peaks of Torres del Paine on the Chilean side of Patagonia.
Read MoreSometimes when visiting locations I’ve been to many times before familiarity or expectation of a scene can make it challanging to see the scene with fresh eyes and come back with new images, so in recent trips to Iceland and Lofoten I’ve been trying a few techniques to try to help me see differently and overcome familiarity.
Read MoreForests are among the most complex places to photograph. As someone who looks for simplicity in my images, the visually chaotic nature of forests makes them challenging for me to find the kind of compositions I'm usually drawn to. Last December I spent a week in the forests of the Pacific North West at the end of my US road trip with @hougaard_malan trying to learn how to do it.
Read MoreIn this video I take a look at Luminar Neo to see how easy and intuitive it is to get my landscape photography images looking how I want them to.
Read MoreI've wanted to try the GF20-35mm f4 wide angle lens since Fuji announced it last year. I took it to Lofoten last month to put it through it’s paces shooting winter landscapes
Read MoreI’ve been curious about the GFX100S since it was announced and this summer I decided to try it for myself. Here are my thoughts on the camera and system after about a month of using it for landscape photography.

Read MoreI’ve been using the DJI Air 2S for about 3 months now. I bought it to replace my Mavic 2 Pro because I wanted something lighter for hiking but with the same quality output. The Air 2S has been with me now to Iceland and the Dolomites, and with the Mavic 3 Pro just about to be announced, here are my thoughts on this excellent little drone.
Read MoreLast month I was in Iceland for a workshop and had the the opportunity to head out to the volcanic eruption of Fagradalsfjall at Geldingadalur. We were lucky that the volcano was active during the time when we were there, and it was just an incredible experience to witness it. In this video I look at my thoughts and considerations in the field, and in the second part of the video go over my editing process for one of the abstract images I captured of the lava flows there.
Read MoreI’ll be heading to Norway at the end of the month for a week’s photography in Senja. We’ll be camping out in the mountains so packing involves taking photography gear as well as stuff for camping and eating. I’ll be trying to keep the pack as light as possible while making sure my gear covers all my needs as well as providing a comfortable sleep. Here’s a look at what I’ll be taking with me

Read MoreThis is the second video from my February workshop in the Lofoten Islands. Like my previous videos I go through the thought process behind some of the images and explain some of the locations while we're behind the scenes on the workshop.
Read MoreAt this time of year I spend a lot of time travelling and leading workshops, and in the past I've not filmed videos during the workshops, but this year I thought it would be interesting to shoot some video during the workshops and then to analyse some of the images that I shot while in the field. I wanted to shoot as spontaneously and discretely as possible, so most of the footage was shot with an iPhone 11 and a DJI Osmo Mobile 3.
Read MoreIn this video I go over the Lightroom editing techniques I use on my own landscape photography images. The philosophy behind image editing is to enhance the mood already present in the RAW capture by using contrast draw attention to different parts of the image.
Read MoreThis is a short video going over what I carry in my camera bag on a typical photography trip. My philosophy is to travel light and try to refine my kit down to just taking what I’m going to need and use. Since I made my “Packing for a photography Trip” last year I’ve changed what I carry with my and also changed my backpack, and that video also went into detail about clothing and all the stuff I would pack for a winter trip.
Read MoreI love colourful sunrises and sunsets with beautiful warm golden light illuminating the landscape, but when you’ve dragged yourself out of bed in the dark and up a mountain and the weather doesn’t give you what you want, there’s still the possibility to capture stark moody landscapes.
Read MoreEarlier this month I spent 10 days in Lofoten running a landscape photography workshop with Jonas Paurell from Vagabond Expeditions.
